Where is the Contractor's risk? Where is the Owner's risk? Don't remediate alone. Prominent Philadelphia attorney Howard Venzie will present a summary of just how the new laws affect the contractor, supplier, designer, and owner. Join us to learn about the changes to AIA A201, and how that document and related laws affect the use of products, materials, mix designs, delivery, handling, installation, finishes/coatings, treatments, winter placement, and cores versus cylinders. Also learn how to submit a correction and get it approved.

Presenter

Howard Venzie is the President and Secretary/Treasurer of the law firm of Venzie, Phillips & Warshawer. He is an active lecturer to various construction contracting firms and industry associations. He has organized and conducted in-house seminars for several major building contractors involving construction contracts, subcontractor bonding, design-build, insurance, and other risk management subjects. He regularly appears as a program speaker in American Arbitration Association seminars involving construction industry arbitration and mediation, construction contracts and claims and the training of commercial and construction industry arbitrators including arbitrators on the "Large and Complex Case" panel. Mr. Venzie has authored several articles on arbitration and mediation which have been published in various construction and ADR publications. He is also a guest speaker on arbitration practice at Villanova Law School and on mediation at Columbia University School of Engineering.

Mr. Venzie has also presented many program lectures and seminars to several Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware builder and contractor associations, the Construction Specifications Institute, the Pennsylvania Utility Contractors Association, and the American Institute of Architects on numerous construction related topics including the arbitration and mediation of construction claims and disputes and has presented CLE programs on commercial and construction arbitration and mediation for the American Arbitration Association, the American Bar Association, and the Pennsylvania Bar Institute.

Mr. Venzie has been selected as Pennsylvania "Super Lawyer" in the category Mediator/Arbitrator - Philadelphia Magazine, "Pennsylvania Super Lawyers" (2005, 2006, 2007 & 2008) and selected for the 2006, 2007 & 2008 editions of The Best Lawyers in America.

From Philadelphia Airport, take I-95 South to I-476 North. Follow I-476 North to I-76 West and exit at Mall Boulevard. Bear Right onto Mall Boulevard and proceed to the traffic light. Make a right onto Gulph Road and hotel is one mile on the right.

From North, take the Pennsylvania Turnpike to Exit 326 (Valley Forge). Proceed through the tollbooth and take the first exit merging onto Gulph Road. The hotel is the second building on the right.

From Delaware (South), take I-95 North to I-476 North. Continue on I-476 North to I-76 West and exit at Mall Boulevard. Bear Right onto Mall Boulevard and proceed to the traffic light. Turn right onto Gulph Road. and hotel is one mile on the right.

From Harrisburg (West), take the Pennsylvania Turnpike East to Valley Forge (Exit 326). Pass through the tollbooths and take the first exit for Valley Forge. Merge onto Gulph Road. The hotel is the second building on the right.
